Sylvia Limmer, September 14, 2021, CO2 Policy

AfD Kompakt, September 14, 2021.

The European Climate Law’s goal for CO2 reduction is 55% by 2030. Thereby shall be initiated nothing less than a “transformative change of our economy and society” so as to diminish “systematic inequality”, as it is called in the EU Commission’s documents.

These goals, so readily declared as being “ambitious”, demand great exertions, primarily at heavy cost to the German taxpayers who in regards inter-European redistribution are traditionally the most heavily disadvantaged. With “Fit for 55”, we shall all of us be subjected to a prohibition and renunciation ethic. Consumption, property, mobility, real progress – all of this is in 3,000 pages more or less directly condemned.

Instead: CO2 climate taxes with which the EU creates its own tax system contrary to the EU Treaty. In addition: Arbitrary bans on combustion engines from 2035, unattainable CO2 reduction standards which will lead to transformation in a supply-oriented electricity market and CO2 prohibitive duties.

All of this endangers our bürgerlichen freedoms and our prosperity. “Fit for 55” is the axe to the roots of the national state, the guarantor of bürgerlichen basic rights.
