Jörg Nobis, September 14, 2021, Greece and Migrant Trafficking

AfD Kompakt, September 14, 2021.

Greece’s Minister-president Mitsotakis wants “to break up and destroy” the trafficking bands in the Mediterranean. He thereby pursues the only correct strategy to stop the deaths in the Mediterranean and unregulated migration to the EU; namely, to offer no incentive, to consequently secure the borders and to proceed with all state measures against criminal traffickers. With his “active border defense strategy”, his country has already attained that the migration streams have receded enormously. The Greek government thereby again shows: Illegal migration can very well be prevented – if one only wants.

Who opposes that, like the old parties in Germany and Schleswig-Holstein continuing to shut tight the eyes before the inconvenient truth, is part of the problem. The State of Schleswig-Holstein wants to be a “safe haven” for migrants, and 19 Schleswig-Holstein communes and three localities send this call out to those in all the world willing to migrate. Such welcome messages are exactly the reason that migrants pay a small fortune to the criminal traffickers so as to be permitted to climb into an unseaworthy rubber dinghy headed to the EU, and possibly start out on a journey to death.

That, with a high probability, to the criminal traffickers need also be accounted German Sea-Watch “rescuers”of the Churches & Co., have the Greek inquiry authorities uncovered in years of inquiry work. 36 NGO co-workers, among whom are 26 Germans, shall be indicted for the formation of a criminal association. The evidence for the comprehensive cooperation of the NGOs with the trafficking bands is striking. Embarrassing for our State, it was even possible for the presumed trafficker assistants of one of the Sea-Watch allies and the Evangelical Church to buy at auction the Poseidon, a ship formerly in the possession of the State.

We of the AfD in the next plenary session of the State legislature are moving a motion for the disapproval of welcome messages and criminal trafficking under cover of the humanitarian do-gooders. Policy needs to orient itself on reality and not on wishful thinking.
