Sylvia Limmer, April 24, 2024, Israel and Iran

EU Parliament, Strasbourg, April 24, 2024, P9 CRE-PROV(2024)04-24(3-036-0000).

Herr President.

Not just today with my last speaking contribution in the European Parliament do I stand here as a free member, and not particularly as a representative of the AfD delegation, due to a cowardly and malicious drone and rocket attack on Israel by the Iranian terrorist mullah regime. Yet not only the AfD and also the EU: Europe needs to understand that Iran’s attack on Israel and Putin’s attack on the Ukraine are two sides of the same coin. Yet the readiness to place oneself at the side of Israel is here often only hesitantly defined.

Thus it is for me to designate the EU foreign minister’s acknowledgment of Israel’s security as  only half-hearted, and it is very disappointing. Herr Borrell, the epicenter is not Gaza but the terror attack of October 7 on Israel. Of course the concluded intensifications of the sanctions are right. Yet if a stabilizing effect in the Near East is really desired, states must be supported which guarantee aid to Israel in regards its defense.

To write of Western values, it must be worthy of them. And most important: Strong resolution is required to stop the Iranian nuclear program. Atomic weapons in the hands of these mullahs will sooner or later be directed not only against Israel but also against us.

Sylvia Limmer, March 13, 2024, EU and Combustion Engine

EU Parliament, Strasbourg, P9 CRE-PROV (2024)03-13(3-264-0000).

Herr President.

It is delightful that majorities across delegations could be repeatedly formed for the Euro 7 norm which, instead of green ideology and visions, could at least partially maintain measure and mean for the auto industry, and are thereby ultimately consumer-friendly, since it would have been autos in the low price segment which, with the EU Commission’s original draft, would have experienced a massive price increase.

And that we could enforce with the stronger requirements the stability of drive batteries is in any case a success, and we are thereby a bit closer to the goal of ending the regulatory preference for e-autos.

Obligatory on-board surveillance systems and stronger limit values for trucks and buses we definitely reject, yet it is of course a fact that it is basically not really about reducing harmful emissions, since these in regards nitrogen oxides have been reduced about 70% in the last 30 years, even though the permitted vehicles have doubled. The goal of the implementation of the so-called mobility transition of the Green Deal was always an accelerated end of the combustion engine.

Thus in regards this vote out-weighs the fact that, with this vote for this Euro 7 compromise, the EU Commission’s fully unrealistic limit values are off the table, and we will vote for this proposal.

Sylvia Limmer, February 7, 2024, Farmers

European Parliament, Straßburg, P9 CRE-PROV(2024)02-07(3-040-0000).

Herr President.

And again this week outraged farmers stand in front of the the European Parliament in Straßburg, just as last week in Brussels. Do eggs, liquid manure and burning hay actually need to just blow up in your faces?

It’s not only about the suspension of the idled acreage, not only about the stifling bureaucracy created by you, about Mercosur and unfair competition; it is not only about bio-quotas fixed by statute, bans on animal husbandry and care of wolves, the revisions of means of crop protection, and so forth and so on.

Farmers plainly suffer from impractical political charlatans with their Green Deal and its hand-outs, and they do not want to let themselves be involved in the course of a fully confused climate rescue and to be degraded to CO2 gardeners.

Perhaps business wanders away without a sound, the farmers however are bound up with their land, and they will not weaken. And they now no longer allow themselves to be ignored.

Sylvia Limmer, July 12, 2023, EU Climate Decree and Agriculture

AfD Kompakt, July 12, 2023.

By means of an intentional, massive recession of agricultural area, this decree endangers our food security, threatens the livelihoods of farmers and grape growers and is a further step into an EU climate museum. Its basic premise, according to which species variety on idled acres is generally greater than on acres in operation, is moreover to be questioned.

Had the CDU/CSU members as a part of the EVP delegation on the Environment Committee proclaimed themselves for the rejection of the proposed decree, and thereby discreetly talked over the tacit cooperation with the AfD, they might now seemingly act quietly. The revolt contrived by Manfred Weber against the EU Commission President with a CDU party book has failed.

All the same, this sudden change of mind was politically dishonorable. Even in October 2019, the “From Farm to Table Strategy” was enthusiastically agreed to in a resolution; a strategy which propagated, besides the reconstruction of nature, the wholesale reduction and in part the complete ban of pesticides. To that pertains the recent statement of Peter Liese, the EVP’s environmental spokesman, that the Green Deal would be “energetically” supported by the EVP. And who frankly admitted that with the Green Deal and the nature reconstruction decree, and the associated expropriations and interdictions of the citizens in reference to nutrition, one needs to apply more slowly. Thus increasingly in Germany, evidently “politically disturbed” citizens need to be “cooked green” more slowly so that they, like the proverbial frog in the pot, do not before time take flight. Thus one does not act out of factual and substantial conviction but merely on the basis of political calculation.

The AfD on that account from the beginning has represented a clear line which makes a theme of and categorically rejects the abolition of agriculture associated with the green-red strategy papers. Since the farmers need our support, for it is they who safeguard our food.

Sylvia Limmer, February 14, 2023, Combustion Engine Ban

AfD Kompakt, February 14, 2023

The combustion engine ban concluded by the EU Parliament is based on a deception: For years it was asserted that electro-mobility, unlike the combustion engines, would be free of emissions. Yet that is not right, since a lack of exhaust of the e-autos still by far does not make it emission-free. Based on this deception, the way was made ready for a massive distortion of competition in favor of e-autos in the name of the climate ideology. For according to current EU law, massive penalty payments must be paid by auto manufacturers to the EU for excess emissions with regard to the permitted exhaust. With the threat of penalty payments in the billions, even the largest auto manufacturers are tamed and praise the e-auto as the vehicle of the future.

High purchase and operating costs, long charging times, a lack of charging infrastructure, dangers of burning e-autos, a decline of battery performance, critical raw materials like lithium, nickel or cobalt harmful to the environment, and an increasing dependence on countries endowed with raw materials, are therefore hidden. Germany as a business venue, with its strong automobile and supplier industry, thereby rolls toward a catastrophe, hundreds of thousands of workplaces are on the brink. We give away good technology to countries which do not join in this nonsense and thereby only weaken ourselves.

The AfD was and is the only party consistently committed for technology openness and competition in mobility. EVP chief Manfred Weber (CSU) indeed stresses wanting to stop the combustion engine exit, yet what has the Union done in the last years in that regard? Nothing! When Weber speaks of wanting in fact to save the combustion technology, yet at the same time anticipates that electro-mobility belongs to the future, that is revealing and only shows that for the CDU/CSU it is not about technology openness and competition. Only with the AfD is there a preservation of the combustion engine.

Sylvia Limmer, June 9, 2022, Combustion Engine

 AfD Kompakt, June 9, 2022.

With yesterday’s vote in the EU Parliament, the auto as we know it is history. The combustion engine at the latest by 2035 will be forbidden; yet well before, there will no longer be capable combustion engines, since the new EU legal situation does not permit this and businesses can no longer earn money with the sale of combustion engines but need to make penalty payments on account of allegedly higher CO2 emissions. Hundreds of thousands of employees will suffer, those who will lose their job in the coming years as a result of Brussels’s Green Deal hysteria and a pretended world rescue. The lie of an ostensible emissions-free mobility“ with battery autos will drive some families of the suppler industry into an existential emergency. Customers need to adjust themselves to dangerous, unreliable, poor performing and expensive E-autos. The dream of one’s own auto is increasingly obstructed due to the E-auto’s higher purchase price and operations costs.

It is long since no longer a secret that it is about the end of individual mobility and the abolition of the auto as private property. For even if the political will was at hand, it would alone fail due to the insufficiently at disposal, permanent resources for the traction batteries which are to replace the presently available combustion engine passenger vehicles by means of E-Mobile.

Germany’s competitiveness and business venue will also suffer. Instead of ourselves, with other European countries, building the world’s best combustion engines, we may now obtain batteries from the Far East and microchips from America. That thereby technological dependencies on autocratically led countries like China will increase massively is a given. That we will certainly not be able to produce the electricity for an auto fleet on today’s scale is for green climate fanatics a trifle.

Done! Welcome to the new eco-socialism which in the last years, indeed decades, was powerfully promoted not only by the usual suspects like the Greens, the Social Democrats and the Linke but even by the Union and the FDP.

Only the AfD still stands credibly for innovation, industrial promotion, prosperity and competitiveness in Germany.

Sylvia Limmer, March 10, 2022, Climate Policy and Child Labor

AfD Kompakt, March 10, 2022.

Everyone knows the horrifying pictures of the dust-covered bodies of children who mostly with bare hands dig the demanded cobalt from the earth. Yet all my motions to ban child labor from the production of raw materials in Third World countries have failed – just as in the previous negotiations in the [European Parliament] environment committee and yesterday in the vote in plenary session. My motions on the corresponding articles in the decree were rejected with an overwhelming majority by precisely those who do not tire of emphasizing their ostensible social responsibility. ALL German members were among the no votes and few abstentions, except of course my colleagues of the AfD; once at least, Frau Nicola Beer of the FDP voted for one of my motions.

The mendacity of the moralizing climate rescuers in this situation is for me fully unbearable – not only as a mother of two children. Allowance is made for children who lose their health and not seldom their life buried in unsafe tunnels so that the self-righteous climate clientele can continue to feel better with their electric luxury cars. All who have voted against my motions place their political self-interest above the welfare of children. They should every morning be utterly ashamed to look in the mirror.

Sylvia Limmer, February 11, 2022, Automotive Engine Emissions

AfD Kompakt, February 11, 2022.

For years, the EU legislation leads us on with the emissions-free automobiles of e-mobility. Yet this is an ideological conjurer’s trick, since only one thing is different – the location of the CO2 emissions, which besides will increase. For as a result of this politically forced electrification of the passenger vehicle fleet, an increased coal-generated electricity will need to come on line and thus the portion of so-called renewable energies in the electricity mix will decline.

Classic automobiles with combustion engines, as well as all the innovations thereto coupled like synthetic and alternative fuels, shall be buried by this green-left Utopia and will be replaced by e-autos. Sand is thereby thrown in the eyes of the citizens and competitiveness, prosperity and workplaces endangered. Instead of this, we demand of the Commission – as is prescribed in the current EU decree from the year 2019 – a comprehensive measurement of all automobile emissions so as to establish the same conditions [Bedingungen] for all. Until then, penalty payments by auto manufacturers should be set aside and innovations promoted. In that regard, an examination of current goals is required, to the year 2028 at the latest, so as to then take into account the expected innovations of the particular drive technologies.

Only so can be prevented permanent damage to the core of Germany’s industrial base. For if the proposals of the Commission were followed, existing plants and workplaces cannot then be simply replaced. As previously, the great problems of e-mobility in regards affordability, lack of demand for reasons of quality, the faulty storage infrastructure, the insecure energy supply and, from the ecological-ethical viewpoint, the questionable mining of raw materials like lithium, cobalt and nickel, would thereby lead to that in the end we would have fewer automobiles in the street. This would have drastic consequences for our prosperity and our way of living.
