AfD Kompakt, January 4, 2022.
For us of the AfD delegation, it is certain: Germany needs
no parliamentary state secretaries at all, they ought to be abolished. We
demand this for years already and have now again brought this into the parliamentary
system with a current draft law. So far, we had no success in regards the other
parties with our demand for abolition: No wonder, the parliamentary state
secretary is after all a well paid position which upon appointment will readily
bestow influence and recompense.
Not only the high costs which arise due to these superfluous
officials, we also regard very critically the breach of the separation of
powers principle. Since the parliamentary state secretaries at the same time
hold their members mandate and on the other hand are on the government bench,
an effective control of the government by the members is not guaranteed; the
government’s influence in the delegations however is certain. Even as a “ministers
school”, as anticipated in the introduction, the office is of no use. It is
only and alone a building block in the position haggling of the old parties. The
number ought to be reduced to zero.
