Following an acknowledged moratorium during the lockdown
phase, the assault on Mitteleuropa via
the Balkan route reports back with full power. The crisis of illegal border
crossing into Austria – and in consequence into Germany – again accelerates.
The strongest increase in the first six months of the current year is on the
West Balkan route: 92 percent more than in the same space of time in 2020. The background
is all too clear: Schengen unfortunately – in this regard – has clearly failed;
secure outer borders are obviously not functioning so that even the Black-Green
in Austria sees itself forced to take hold of robust measures for securing the
border.
Since, ja –
Austria is doing real border defense: 1,000 requested soldiers assist the
police, and in fact on the green border with drones and heat-sensitive cameras
with instant access as a consequence. Against the background of the German
debates, wherein tales will be told of the acceptance of all and any from all
the world, and a permanent self-obligation and a targeted dis-crediting of law
enforcement will be managed, an effective observance of the law of this kind and
the implementation of state mandates as will be driven forward in Austria is
now unaccustomed after a 16 year slumber of the state of law. From the German
perspective, such self-evident matters like Austria’s fight against organized
crime – here, the illegal intrusion across the state border – sounds like
science fiction. Everyone knows that the same here in this country would be
immediately defamed as an inhuman agit-hunt of the traumatized.
Opposed to this German fatalism, which wants to invite
law-breaking by means of illegal immigrants, Austria shows that a border
defense can certainly be managed on the green border. It is as ever only a
question of political will. And Germany now must take hold of measures for
border defense so as to prevent that the
illegal migration to Germany again increases. The proverbial German
self-deprivation of rights is the principle pull factor. As long as Germany does
not defend the border, illegal immigrants will continue to feel themselves
invited. It would in any case be a sign of neighborly solidarity with Austria –
to wit, the Austrian border surveillance – to finally make the border secure.
