Alexander Gauland, May 19, 2021, Russia

German Bundestag, Plenarprotokoll 19/229, p. 29299.

Herr President. Ladies and gentlemen.

One need not agree with every formulation of the Linke’s motions to hold their intentions to be correct. Ever since the days of Frederick the Great, it goes well for Germany and the Germans when they have a good relation with Russia. That applies to the time of the Wars of Liberation as to the Bismarckian unification of the Reich, to the Rapallo Treaty as to the re-unification.

Hitler’s madness and his crimes were in this case an aberration from the Prussian-German tradition. And in that since the days of Gorbachev we no longer have geo-strategic conflicts with Russia, Bismarck’s warning to never let the line to St. Petersburg be broken actually needs might have been self-fulfilling.

That this is not so now in no way lies only on the Russian side. In the old Federal Republic, the opinion was widespread that the times of geopolitics were past. Jürgen Habermas designated geopolitics as “tamtam”. Following the ravages of the Third Reich, many Germans wanted most gladly to renounce foreign policy. Politicians like Hans-Dietrich Genscher spoke of “world domestic policy”.

Today we know that these were wishful dreams. Geopolitics has never disappeared; it had never disappeared. We are presently experiencing the ascent of an unearthly [unheimlichen] world power, while the previous hegemon loses influence and, in regards domestic policy, is threatened by conflicts similar to civil war. Besides these two is meantime the great power, Russia, the conduct of which often leaves us clueless.

Yes, one can – or must – name the annexation of Crimea a violation of international law, even when historically there is much to be said for the Russian position.

Manuel Sarrazin (Greens): Rather for the Greek!

Yet we need also ask ourselves whether the expansion of NATO – colleague Hampel has just spoken of it – up to the borders of Russia does not – as the negotiations leader, Horst Teltschik, is convinced – contradict the intentions expressed in the scope of the re-unification negotiations.

Still more problematic is the new situational thinking [Lagerdenken]: Here Western-democratic, there authoritarian. We must now for once deal with the fact that two world powers, China and Russia, reject the Western model. Yet in that we postulate the legitimacy of this model for the whole world, we drive Russia, despite its European tradition, into the arms of China.

Instead of changing Russia’s foreign policy by which we do not place in discussion its domestic order, we attempt to correct this according to our sense, which leads to a further hardening of foreign policy. China’s ascent thereby certainly makes clear that the Western assumption of a necessary liberalization by progressive economic success, as was once expected by the American economist Galbraith, was a false speculation which obviously does not function in other than Western social models.

Therefore, ladies and gentlemen, it would be sensible and correct to give up this policy and again turn back to a traditional policy of reasons of state and there to only attack Russia where it violates our geo-strategic and economic interests. The domestic order of a country should alone be determined by the citizens of that country, and even when, as in the Navalny affair, our sense of right is violated.

The states and societies of this world are too distinctive to let themselves be trimmed to the model of Westminster.

I am grateful for the attention.

Gerd Mannes, May 5, 2021, Climate Dictatorship

Bavarian Landtag, Plenarprotokoll 18/82, pp. 10901-10902.

Right honorable Presidium. Right honorable ladies and gentlemen.

The Federal Constitutional Court has stated in a decision that the Federal government’s Climate Protection Law may be insufficient. The judges come to the conclusion that, in the future, serious forfeitures of freedom for the protection of the climate could be proportionately and constitutionally justified. At this point, I must quite clearly say: These forfeitures of freedom, not more clearly defined, can become dangerous licenses for the intentions of an over-reaching government. Any criticism of the climate ideology could in the future be considered to be unconstitutional.

The critics of such a climate society negligent of prosperity could be observed by the Constitution Defense or criminally prosecuted. The criminalization of business activity and individual mobility could in the future be on the daily order. Briefly stated: Under the pretense of climate protection, basic rights and rights of ownership could be restricted or abolished.

The door would be opened to eco-socialist fantasies of redistribution and expropriation. One could even be of the opinion that, as to the so-called climate protection, it is precisely about that. The CO2 tax is a devastating example of that, as the citizens will be ripped off under the pretense of climate protection. The increased price of individual transportation, of construction and of consumer goods is attended by a great social injustice. The alleged climate protection primarily means a renunciation of the quality of life for broad classes of the population. It must be clear to the citizens where the eco-dictatorship leads. Wide portions of industry and the Mittelstand will be ruined, since the CO2 tax for the so-called carbon leakage will thereby lead to losses of value creation in Bavaria.

The BDI [Federation of German Industry] warns of eco-socialist ideologies: The multiplicity of prohibitions, quotas and technology standards are the foundation stones of another social order in which the life of the people and the economy will be burdened with ever more costs and our prosperity permanently destroyed. Will we soon see a climate levy on private assets, a ban on single family housing to protect the climate, or, of which we especially warn, a climate lockdown as has been demanded by confused climate youths? The climate hysteria may in no case be a reason for restrictions of freedom, or certainly a lockdown.

The Constitutional judges based their decision on the international climate researches and warnings of the so-called world climate council, the IPCC. For many reasons, this appears questionable. First, the IPCC is not democratically legitimated. Second, the IPCC has many times in the past attracted attention as a result of false forecasts. Third, the IPCC is not a neutral, scientific body but a political one. It thereby has to do with the hardened financial interests of lobby groups. Ja, it has to do with quite a lot of money. The so-called climate protection is a money-making machine for pseudo-green interests and an insatiable state.

We of the AfD will not stand idly by as the citizens continue to be deprived of their rights and ripped off. The destructive Corona policy has already shown that the government does not really take seriously the defense of the basic rights. We of the AfD must prevent that the violation of basic rights be repeated with the climate protection. Basic rights are not privileges but non-negotiable foundations of a functioning democracy. The guarantee of the basic rights and rights of freedom must be secured, even in regards the climate protection efforts.

We request a vote in favor for our motion [Drucksache 18/15544].

Beatrix von Storch, May 19, 2021, Anti-semitism

German Bundestag, May 19, 2021, Plenarprotokoll 19/229, pp. 29275-29276.

Frau President. Ladies and gentlemen.

We all have seen the pictures from Gelsenkirchen: Behind the flags of the Islamic half moon, a Moslem mob lets fly its Judenhass. The police do nothing. – At the same time, you now submit a 40 page report on anti-semitism in which you equate anti-semitism and hostility to Moslems. You put the Jews on the same level with the Moslem Judenhassern, the victims with the perpetrators. That is no fight against anti-semitism. That is anti-semitism.

Your Islam conference is in truth an Islamist conference. You are its helpers and useful idiots – pardon. Now, even to government spokesman Seibert comes a recognition in regards the unchained Moslem Judenhass – I may cite: In these days, it becomes clear to us: There is also a Moslem anti-semitism. – Congratulations. Welcome back to reality!

The inquiries amongst Jews show: In most of all cases, the violent attacks against Jews proceed overwhelmingly from Moslems.

Gökay Akbulut (Linke): Look just for once at your own party!

Government spokesman Seibert now says after Gelsenkirchen that Jews can no longer move about freely in Germany. And what does Weber, the CSU man, now broadcast from his spaceship in Brussels? He sees the raging Moslem hordes and says: The AfD is guilty. – Na klar. That is a fight against the right which has become hallucinatory. You simply do not want to admit that the fuse which you have laid now ignites. With your immigration policy, you have imported Judenhass from the Near East to Germany.

Gökay Akbulut (Linke): Look for once at your ancestors!

At the U.N., the Federal government stands reliably as the ever true partner at the side of Islamic regimes and votes against Israel. The Federal government is one of the principal money donors for the Palestinian refugee aid organization, UNRWA [United Nations Relief and Works Agency]. In 2017 alone, 80 million euros for the Hamas infrastructure

Gökay Akbulut (Linke): Look at your family!

and Islamist propaganda. And you tolerate the Moslem Brotherhood, Gray Wolves, BDS movement.  And now today comes the announcement that three Hezbollah associations have been banned

Jan Korte (Linke): Clear up your family history before you give such                                    speeches here!

– the AfD works!

Jan Korte (Linke): Acquaint yourself with the plundering of other people from your history! It is so!

The BDS movement is the clasp between leftist and Moslem anti-semitism. This common front is directed against Israel, Germany and the West. It reaches from Iran to the Greens, from Hezbollah to Black Lives Matter, from Hamas to Fridays for Future. It was, besides those of the PFLP [Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine], principally the representatives of the BDS movement who had announced the violent Judenhass demonstrations on the weekends across Germany. This we had heard this morning in the Interior Committee from the Interior Ministry.

While Hamas fires thousands of rockets at Israel, Fridays for Future quite openly calls for the boycott of Israeli products. At the head of the boycott Israel movement is the climate icon of you all, Greta Thunberg! It is good that the mask now falls.

With your politically correct workshops and mendacious dialogue events, you will not stop the wave of Moslem Judenhass. It is thereby clear what must now happen: A ban on BDS, Moslem Brotherhood and Gray Wolves, stop the foreign financing of mosques, dissolve the Islam conference, and the payment to the UNRWA must be suspended.

Merkel says she will “not tolerate” the attacks. Seibert will “not accept” them. Schäuble finds it “unbearable”. Please finally stop with the German phrase dictionary and do something! If you wanted, you could. The problem is that you do not want to.

Jan Korte (Linke): Better than Nazi phrases!

Many thanks.

Britta Haßelmann (Greens): Now the debate may continue among us!

Katrin Göring-Eckardt (Greens): A total excuse.

Jan Korte (Linke): The family keeps the form!

Sylvia Limmer, May 12, 2021, Climate Protection Law

AfD Kompakt, May 12, 2021

The governing parties know no scruple when it is about the enticement of the left-green disposed electorate. For that, they sacrifice the prosperity and well-being of our country. The BCG [Boston Consulting Group] study verifies that in all clarity. So as to adhere to the law, there may be, after 2030, thus already in eight and a half years, no new permissions for combustion engine autos. From 2023, thus in one and a half years, is no more new oil and gas heating allowed to be installed. With the new standards of emissions reduction, entire branches will be presented with nearly unsolvable problems. The chemical sector alone might need more green electricity than the entire present consumption of electricity in Germany. – So will a whole country be thrown to the feeding of the left-green Zeitgeist. The Climate Protection Law massively damages our economic performance and means an immense flood of costs for the citizens. Alone, the energy restoration of the building stock, which is still designated as being responsible for a third of CO2 emissions, would cause costs of up to almost a trillion euros with a CO2 reduction of up to the maximum of 95 percent by 2050. The irresponsible authors of the climate laws ought to be voted out as quickly as possible.

Roland Hartwig, May 6, 2021, Hong Kong

German Bundestag, Plenarprotokoll 19/227, pp. 29039-29040.

Herr President. Ladies and gentlemen.

The U.S.A.’s dominant position as a world power will be increasingly challenged by China. This did not first begin with Donald Trump and it will also not end with Joe Biden. The conflict resulting therefrom will be decided on many levels. Obvious examples are the reciprocal economic sanctions and the measuring of military power in the South China Sea. Not quite so obvious is the instrumentalization of so-called civil societies so as to indirectly promote unrest. This is nothing other than interference in the domestic affairs of a country. And Hong Kong is an evident example of this.

First a look at the Hong Kong activist Joshua Wong, with whom our Foreign Minister let himself be photographed in common and who later was quoted with the words, “We will not attain our goal with purely peaceful protest.” He was for long built up by the U.S.A. as an icon. “Time” magazine chose him as one of the most influential teenagers of 2014. The American media firm Netflix placed him before a wide public in the production, “Teenager vs. Superpower”. And in 2018, American presidential candidate Marco Rubio even nominated him for a Nobel peace prize.

Let us look at Hong Kong civil society. It receives significant sums from foreign countries. Here by far the greatest money donor is again the United States, which alone between 2000 and 2015 has expended over 200 million dollars for the promotion of democracy in China. Already during the so-called umbrella protests in the year 2014, the Chinese government criticized this de-stabilizing interference in domestic affairs. And the internationally regarded advisor of the American Defense Department, Dr. Michael Pillsbury, conceded on American television that these accusations may not be entirely false.

Yet not only in Hong Kong; with us here also will transatlantic networks be built and politically well-meaning persons be promoted. The aforementioned Marco Rubio has in the past year quite decisively expedited the construction of an inter-parliamentary China alliance, the goal of which is to coordinate the China policies of members in different countries, presumably in the American interest. Among the members are names of politicians who have signed the submitted motions. They are in part also members of other networks like the Atlantic Bridge or the Young Leaders of the American Council on Germany. The discussions thus do not take place in thin air. They are elements of a growing Chinese-American conflict. What does this mean for us?

First. I am a representative of a party which wants win back sovereignty for our country.

Christian Dürr (FDP): What is that for rubbish? That is ridiculous!

I therefore am of the strong conviction that we should not undermine the sovereignty of other countries, by which we de-stabilize them from within.

Christian Dürr (FDP): You take your orders from Moscow! That is ridiculous, what you are saying!

Second. We are concerned about the guarantee of an agreement which was concluded between Great Britain and the People’s Republic of China in 1984. Not us, but the British have called for the acceptance of eventual violations of this agreement. For that, they require no help from Germany.

Third. We should generally not let ourselves be hitched to the wagon of other powers which strive to involve Germany in their geo-political conflicts. That is quite clearly not in the interest of our country. Yet your motions go precisely in that direction. The AfD delegation will therefore not vote for them.

            Christian Dürr (FDP): Anti-American! Super!

Enrico Komning, May 6, 2021, German Maritime Industry

German Bundestag, Plenarprotokoll 19/227, p. 28879.

Right honorable Herr President. Ladies and gentlemen colleagues.

Dear colleague Kruse, I cannot share your opinion that your motion is good. The grand coalition’s motion is in my view like a show window proposal. Basically, it is nothing other than election campaign noise. In times in which the vaccination prioritization will be cancelled, to demand a prioritization for ship’s crew is surely very transparent.

You let China take away cargo ship construction. You now let China take away the construction of cruise ships. On account of your short-sighted and ideologically driven policy, shipbuilding in Germany is facing ruin.

With your arbitrarily determined climate goals, you destroy the competitivity of German shipbuilding and thus prevent urgently needed investments for more efficient, more economical propulsion systems with consequently reduced emissions. In the Green reality, ladies and gentlemen, German shipbuilding will quite clearly not recover. Either you negotiate uniform standards with the principle shipbuilding nations, or you forbid the entry into German ports of “wicked” Chinese and Korean ships. Alternatively, you could for once try the social market economy and release German shipbuilding into a fair competition.

Ladies and gentlemen, due to the government’s long-term lockdown, the German maritime trade has to write down dramatic declines. The continued closing of retail trade leads the German shipping companies to the edge of ruin. The Russian sanctions go out of the way to idle the great potential of ocean commerce on the Baltic Sea. And while China and Great Britain, thanks to more durable opening strategies, are long since again on a robust course of growth, you are still discussing whether the confinements should apply to the vaccinated.

In your motion you affirm you want to develop a coherent national ports concept and to strengthen the cooperation of the port venues. Ja, Herrschaftszeiten, why have you then not already done that in past decades?  Instead, for twenty years you have occupied yourselves with a deepening of the Elbe, the future viability of which is already in question, and thereby let yourselves dance attendance upon the people with whom you tomorrow would most prefer to lie in a coalition bed, and indeed both of you, CDU/CSU and SPD.

In the lockdown crisis, all German overseas ports, and especially the port of Hamburg, have lost massively vis-à-vis competitors in Rotterdam and Antwerp. With the urgently required reform of the imports turnover tax, you indeed have pushed back the expiration time frame. The settlements model, which the AfD Bundestag delegation has here already many times demanded, and, according to unanimous expert opinion, of which imports are in urgent need, nevertheless still awaits its implementation.

Ladies and gentlemen, fine words and ideology cannot overcome the crisis into which you have led the maritime economy. Turn back to a policy shaped by the market economy! Throw the ideological ballast overboard! With this motion, ladies and gentlemen, that will quite clearly not happen.

Many thanks.
