Jörg Meuthen, November 10, 2021, Poland and Migrants

AfD Kompakt, November 10, 2021.

  1. The German government and the European Union should immediately accommodate every assistance desired by our Polish friends. To that could pertain financial support for the erection of effective border fortification [Grenzbefestigung] or, if the occasion arises, logistics support desired by the Polish government.
  1. To the migrants’ countries of origin is to be immediately sent a clear and unmistakable message: Here, there is no thoroughfare! Not a single migrant who gets on a flight to Minsk will in this way be admitted to the EU. The times of an unreflective welcome culture are definitely over.
  1. A short-term humanitarian solution must be found for the migrants who presently find themselves on the Polish-Byelorussian border so as to save them from freezing in the approaching winter. A possible solution may therein consist, in agreement with the government in Kiev, of opening a corridor for the reception of the migrants in the Ukraine. For such a humanitarian service, the Ukraine would be financially and logistically supported by the European Union.

Jörg Meuthen, October 19, 2021, Poland and EU

AfD Kompakt, October 19, 2021.

If Poland withdrew from the EU, the EU Parliament could in fact be abolished, since scarcely one plenary week goes by in which the Poles in Strasbourg are not put in the pillory. The reproaches which Brussels makes to the government in Warsaw are abstruse: It is not Poland which has a problem with its state of law but very much the EU in regards its observance of its own laws. Warsaw cannot be blamed that it takes seriously its own courts. Would it be desired that other states follow this example.

EU law then only has priority before national law when it concerns EU competences. The EU itself however cannot arbitrarily decide what its competences are and these anyway widen. This holding of the Polish constitutional court was in this or similar form already shared by the constitutional courts of other states, as in Spain, France, yet also in Germany.

The proceedings against Poland, the financial extortion and the threat of exclusion from the EU federation of states, are thus not juridically but politically motivated: One is disturbed that Poland does not participate in the leftist-globalist agenda with its LGBTIQ propaganda, its Multikulti fetish and its cult of abortion, and instead defends its Christian-Western heritage, its traditions and its identity – and consequently the fundamentals of our civilization which unfortunately ever more need be vindicated in 21st Century Europe.

Jörg Meuthen, October 5, 2021, EU-USA Relations – Picula Report

AfD Kompakt, October 5, 2021.

Good relations with Washington are in our interest. It is therefore important that our interests be respected by Washington. In the past, that was not always the case: One thinks of the U.S.A.’s attempt to hinder Nord Stream 2 or to entangle us in interventionist foreign policy adventure, the consequences of which have more harmed us than been of use. From there proceeds a not unfounded scepticism in regards U.S. foreign policy. This scepticism however ought not mislead to proceeding on a confrontation course with the U.S.A.

Trade is the key for good relations. If goods do not cross the borders, soldiers will, a French economist once said. And what the Picula Report on EU-US relations today discussed in the EU parliament here establishes is correct: Among other things, an intensification and improvement of trade relations between the EU and the U.S.A. and a reciprocal suspension and deconstruction of tariffs.

Nevertheless, the Picula Report cannot be agreed to because it mixes up interests policy with a leftist ideology: Where it should be about an adjustment of interests eye to eye, it deals with an LGBTIQ fetish, gender equality, an indirect forced vaccination, internet censorship on account of alleged hate speech, so-called racism, and climate dirigisme. Trade policy thus becomes a vehicle of a leftist cultural revolution.

We reject this and demand closer yet de-ideologized relations with the U.S.A.
