The Alternative für Deutschland for months already warns
that the sanctions more heavily affect Germany than Russia. It is gratifying
that this recognition is now spoken of in the other parties. Chancellor Scholz
needs to take seriously the warning of his general-secretary and secure the gas
supply.
If it really comes to a gas triage, it is too late. Then countless
businesses and employees will be intensive-care patients of the social system. The
emergency case must be averted. De-escalation and diplomacy are called for with
which the energy supply is again guaranteed.
