Leftist
extremists have been brawling for the past three nights in Leipzig. Against
this leftist extremist rioting, there must be proceedings with the full
strictness of the law. It cannot be that a minority of violent leftists oppress
entire sections of Leipzig, harm police officers and damage the property of
citizens.
Renewed
rioting has already been announced for next weekend by the leftist extremists.
Since most of the extreme left, violent perpetrators can be identified, I
demand that Saxony Interior Minister Roland Wöller get busy before next weekend
and re-establish security in Leipzig.
Since
2014, the AfD delegation in the Saxony state legislature has warned of
foreseeable developments in the area of leftist extremism. The governing CDU
has hitherto rejected in the state legislature all AfD motions to combat
leftist extremism. The Saxony Minister-president Kretschmer (CDU) now
apparently wants to proceed against the leftist extremists. Nevertheless, he
long since could have done that – only he would have had to support the motions
of the AfD.
